It is cold!!! We are in the beginning of a cold snap for the first time this winter. It is very lovely outside. It is crystal clear and sunny but the outside temp. is in the teens with the wind chill. Brrrrr. Thankfully, I am off from school today for MLK Holiday but tomorrow I will be standing in the cold at recess times. I better get my winter coat, gloves and scarf ready. The school provideds "hotties" so I will put them in my shoes and in my gloves in hope to stay relatively warm.
In other news. Hubby's car has broke down again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Same problem. It is acting the same way as before :( I could just cry. We had it back a day and a half before it was up to it's old tricks.....Stalling. Fortuanately everytime it stalled it did restart which it would not do before. I than called the machanic to tell them he said to bring it back that it must need that second sensor. Okay fine....so hubby gets in the car to drive it to the shop but it would not start at all!!!!!!!!!!!!! By this time it is within a half hour of the garage closing. I call to tell them we were coming to bring in the car but it wouldn't start. My mechanic's response..."Oh, crap" Yup that was our words exactly. He told us to come on down and pick up a loaner and that they will tow the car on Monday. So I took hubby to get a loaner Friday night. Saturday, we needed to move his broken car to get to our storage area. We were going to push it out of the way but out of curosity hubby tried to start it. After a couple of tries it started. So we pulled it out from the garage a bit. It started again when we need to put the car back in the garage . I think being as the car is unpredictable as to whether or not it will start after a stall I will still have the garage tow it today. I thought about just driving it to them this morning but I am afraid of being left stranded in the cold and on a busy highway. I will tell them it may start when they come to get it but I just don't want to take the chance to bring it to them. They would have to bring me home anyway if I did take the car to them since hubby is working. This is the last thing I wanted to deal with on my day off.
So our car drama continues :(
Well it looks like the mechanic has the problem narrowed down, sort of. The cars computer finally gave a fault code that showed a problem with the ingnition module and possibly the camshaft sensor and another sensor which for the life of me I can't remember what it is. Anyway, in order for the camshaft sensor and this other sensor to work properly they have to get the correct signals from the ingnition module since the ingnition module isn't doing it's job the mechanic can't tell if the other sensors are working or not. Sooooo, he has to replace the module first. It's a $300 dollar part! OUCH! IF We ARE LUCKY once that part is replaced the other sensors will begin to work and that will be the end of this saga. But if things don't go our way than the mechanic will also have to replace the sensors which will raise our repair bill from $450 (module plus labor) up to over $800!!!!! Geez this has been going on for three weeks. Thankfully the mechanic gave us a loaner car this week since hubby and I are back to work and we both need a vehicle.
We are praying for the best case scenerio here. We will know tomorrow.
In one day I will back to the daily grind :( This has been one of the busiest Winter Breaks, I think I am looking forward to getting things back to normal. I am going to miss sleeping in tho'.
Our Holiday has been nice; sprinkled with a little stress. My husbands car has been in the shop the entire time and STILL IS! The mechanic has been so backed because of the Holidays (only open a total of 6 days the last 2 wks). that he didn't get a chance to look at the car until yesterday. Fortunately, for us, hubby was off these two weeks. BUT now that he goes back to work on Monday we had to make arrangements with the mechanic for a loaner car (free thank goodness) Anyway, the mechanic has the problem narrowed down to a couple of things. Still don't know what it will cost us. According to the mechanic worst case scenerio it may cost about $600! OUCH. Please send good thoughts for the best case scenerio.
Highlights of our break. Christmas with our families. Playing Guitar Hero III and Dance Dance Revolution until the New Year came. We found a really good deal on a new HDTV and upgraded our satellite service to HD all I have to say is WOW. I watched football for the first time ever just so I can take in what HD has to offer. Again WOW. Than I watched "Unwrapped" on the FoodNetwork in HD OMG it looked like I was looking thru' a window and it looked so real that it made me hungry. We also took in a movie at the new theater in our area and spent time walking around the Mall. We also took my mom out to eat on Christmas Eve and had fun bowling on the Wii with her.
All in all it has been a good break I guess that is why it is hard to head back to work and life.
