My life seems a bit boring so I don't post much. I will however post a bunch of stuff tonight. Why? Cause hubby is out of town for the weekend and I am now really bored. It is actually kind of nice having him gone for a bit. The house is quieter. Hubby usually has the TV on all the time when he is home. So there hasn't been any TV noise, that's nice. The kids have been doing their own thing. Girlchild spent the day with a friend, boychild slept until noon, ate, play video games, ate again, played on the computer and will probably eat some more. A good day for him I suppose. I did laundry. Why? I don't know I will just have to do more laundry when hubby gets home. I also replaced the front door keyed entry door knob. The old one was broken we could barely turn it to open the door. It took two hands to accomplish. Not good. If we needed to get out quick we wouldn't be able to. So off to Home Depot for a new knob. Now it works fine, it sticks a little but maybe it just needs to be broken in or a bit of WD40.
This week I cancelled my old gym membership and joined a new gym. We've been a member of our old gym for ten years!!!! It was a tough decision to move on to a new gym. The new gym is about four blocks from our house, the old one was about 2 miles. That was the deciding factor. If it is closer and I don't have to deal with traffic I will go more often. What is really cool is that it is a brand spankin' new gym. Just opened this week! It has state of the art equipment, TV's built into each exercise maching ie. Ellliptical, treadmill, stationary bike, along with Ipod ports so you can control your Ipod via the machines handle and a USB port for a memory stick to upload/download your calorie, distance and the speed you accomplished during your workout. It will total up all your activity at the end of each week. COOL. Also, the machines have vitural trainers. It is hard to explain but it to is way cool! I went Friday for the first time to workout. I was the only one working out. Talk about weird. I expected it tho'. Since it had just opened 3 days prior. I also work out at an odd time of day around 12:30 in the afternoon. Even at my old gym there would only be about 10-15 people working out at that time and it was a bit larger than the new gym. However, I did see quite a few people coming in to sign up for membership. OH and the really nice part of this fancy gym it is actually cheaper than our old gym! How nice is that? I save money on gas cause I can walk there plus I save money on the gym membership. At any rate I plan on going Monday Wednesday and Friday by myself and Tues & Thurs. with my daughter when she gets home from school. My son can come too of course but he may have too much homework or just wont want to.
We also have a houseguest for a month. It is Rocky, our friends BIG golden retriever. His people are in Arizona for some Army training. Rocky will be with us until the beginning of May. He is a great dog especially now that he has stopped peeing on our youngest golden retriever.
Here is a photo of the three of them:
Anyway, that is as exciting as life gets.
I feel deserted :( Both kids are at a friends house for the evening. Hubby is out on a "Night Strike". What is Night Strike you might ask? Well, it is a ministry that goes downtown and feeds the homeless, wash their feet, clip their nails, cut their hair and take time to visit with them as they eat. They also take them blankets, socks and gloves to help them against the cold. This ministry puts Matthew 25:40 into action where Jesus says "Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." It is an awesome ministry. They are out there to help those who are hungry, need shelter and clothing. I admire my hubby for being able to take part in such a ministry. I am not that bold.
At any rate my family have all scattered and left me home alone :( I wasn't prepared to be by myself tonight. I really don't know what to do with myself. I've spent time researching on the internet about Glaucoma being as my hubby is being sent to a Glaucoma specialist 'just to make sure' all is well with his eyes. Our eye Dr. wasn't able to get any results with the tests he has available to him so he is referring hubby to someone who specializes in glaucoma. The Dr. said for us not to be alarmed sometimes some patients are difficult to accurately test and therefore need to see a specialist just to rule out any problem. Well frankly the Dr. alarmed me! So I've been reading about what it is and what could be done. I feel a bit better. There are things that can slow down the progression of the disease and save a person from any further vision loss. It still is scary tho'. We wont know anything until March 14th that was the earliest appointment hubby could get with the specialist.
After I finished researching, I decided to play around with Windows Vista's speech recognition software. It really works! I've tried Dragons Naturally Speaking once a few years ago, it took forever to get it to understand me (hubby says that's normal...brat) but it never really worked well for me. I 'trained' Vistas program for about 10 mins. and now it just about gets everything I say correct! I thought about dictating this post but my dogs are having a sensitive night tonight and are barking at every little sound. So dictating wont work well with all the comotion.
Hmmm now I am out of things to write about.... I guess I will try and watch some TV. Fridays stink for TV, nothing is ever on.
I think I need to get a life anyone know where I can get one?
